1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the developer of GPS Find My Device as listed on Google Play ("we", "us"). They cover the GPS Find My Device Android app (shown on your phone as "Find My Device - Phone Tracker") and this website (together, the "Service").
By downloading, installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Who can use the app
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services without a parent's consent. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these Terms with you. You must use the app in line with all laws that apply to you.
3. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on Android devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the app, or try to access our systems in ways we did not intend, except where the law allows it.
4. Your account
Some features, like Find My Phone, need you to sign in with a Google account. Keep your Google account and your phone's lock screen secure: anyone with access to them may be able to locate, ring, lock or erase your phones. Tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
5. Tracking people: consent comes first
Only track people who know and agree. The app is built so that a person must approve a request before their location is shared. You must never use it to track, monitor or follow anyone secretly or without their consent.
You are responsible for making sure that anyone whose location you view, or whose phone you set up, has agreed to it. Where you set up a child's phone as a parent or guardian, you must have the right to do so and should tell the child. Secretly tracking another person may be a crime in your country.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- stalk, harass, threaten or monitor anyone, or use the app on a device that isn't yours without the owner's permission;
- lock or erase a phone you don't own, or use the app to steal, damage or access other people's data;
- send false SOS alerts or spam other users with requests;
- interfere with, overload or try to break the Service or its security;
- use the Service for anything illegal or for any purpose these Terms don't allow.
We may suspend or block access if we believe these rules are being broken.
7. Lock, Erase and Device Admin
Lock Phone, Erase Data, Intruder Selfie and Uninstall Protection use Android's Device Admin permission, which you can turn on and off at any time.
- Erase Data permanently factory-resets the phone. Everything on it is deleted, including this app, and it can't be undone or located afterwards. Only erase a phone that belongs to you, and only when you are sure.
- While Uninstall Protection is on, you need to turn it off in the app (or in Android Settings → Security → Device admin apps) before you can uninstall.
- Remote actions need the target phone to be on, connected to the internet and signed in to the same Google account, so they may be delayed or may not arrive.
8. Not an emergency or safety service
GPS Find My Device helps you find phones and stay in touch, but it is not an emergency, rescue or personal safety service. SOS alerts go only to the people you share your location with. They do not contact the police, ambulance or any emergency service. Location can be inaccurate, delayed or unavailable because of GPS signal, network coverage, battery saving, permissions or the phone being switched off. Never rely on the app alone in an emergency. Call your local emergency number.
Recovering a lost or stolen phone isn't guaranteed. If your phone is stolen, report it to the police and your mobile network.
9. Premium subscriptions
- Billing. Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription (for example weekly, monthly or yearly) through Google Play. The price and billing period are shown before you confirm, and you're charged to your Google Play payment method.
- Free trials and offers. If a free trial or introductory price is offered, the regular price is charged when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in the Google Play Store → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Premium stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy, except where local law gives you more rights.
- Changes. We may change what Premium includes or its price. Price changes for existing subscribers follow Google Play's rules and you'll be told in advance.
10. Ads and third-party services
The free version may show ads provided by Google AdMob. The app relies on third-party services such as Google Play services, Google Maps and Firebase, which have their own terms. We're not responsible for third-party services, websites or ads, or for their availability.
11. Intellectual property
The app, its design, artwork, text and code belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms don't give you any rights to our name, logos or artwork. Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. GPS Find My Device is not affiliated with Google.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate or that it will find, protect or recover any device or person. Features depend on your phone's hardware, Android version, settings, battery optimisation and network, and may not work on every device. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, devices, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. This includes data lost through Erase Data, alarms that don't sound, and locations that are wrong or late. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 10 if you paid nothing. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
You agree to be responsible for, and to compensate us for, claims arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms, including tracking someone without their consent.
14. Ending these terms
You can stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. You can also ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we stop offering the Service. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as disclaimers and limitation of liability) survive the end of these Terms.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above and, for important changes, let you know in the app or on this website. If you keep using the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
